That's very cute but you've got it all wrong. The person exploiting this Marine's death for political purposes wasn't Katherine Baker Knoll, it was the sister-in-law, Rhonda Goodrich. Ol' Rhonda is a known Republican agitator, Knoll showed up at the funeral– there were many, many people there– and as a member of the state government handed the widow her card and said "if you need anything, give me a call." No politicking, no grandstanding, she walked outside, the cameras saw her and ran up to her, she said something to the extent of what a tragedy that our young Americans are dying like this. The sister-in-law is the one who grabbed the opportunity to smear her brother-in-law's funeral by raising a big partisan stink.

I heard it here, a local Pittsburgh radio station. They had the Marine's mother on, not the widow. She doesn't seem too impressed with the sister-in-law. Still waiting to see if any of the liberal newspapers pick it up.
Find the mom or the dad or the widow or whatever, call 'em up, explain to them (lie to them, if you will) that you're following up on the story and you would like to know THEIR take on things. Do a little investigative followup journalism and see what they have to say.
